J.R. Eppler serves as a valued advisor to growing businesses. With a master's degree in business administration and an understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing an enterprise, he provides legal advice tailored to your specific plans and goals.

J.R. works with businesses throughout their lifecycle, from the negotiation of founders' issues, through commercialization, mergers and acquisitions, to counseling on public offerings of stock. He has worked with clients in a wide variety of industries, including software, media, mobile applications, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, energy, finance and investing, non-profits, private equity, health care, and banking. Throughout his career, J.R. has been a passionate advocate for entrepreneurs and small business operators. 

 

J.R. understands that the recept of strong advocacy should not be solely dependent on ability to pay. In his pro bono practice, J.R. has represented clients in eviction defense, students facing expulsion from school, and the homeless in receiving necessary government services. He serves as outside pro bono counsel to local nonprofits working to revitalize neighborhood parks, foster non-violence and community in public housing, and brighten the neighborhood with art. 

Dedication to service extends beyond J.R.'s professional obligations. Since 2013, he has served as president of the Potrero Boosters Neighborhood Association, and  sits on the boards of the Potrero Hill Democratic Club and the Potrero-Dogpatch Merchants Association. He served on the Advisory Board of OneJustice, a legal services organization that increases access to legal assistance for underserved Californians by building infrastructure and partnerships in the legal community, and continues to participate in OneJustice's Strategy Council.  

J.R. earned his J.D. at the UCLA School of Law and M.B.A. from the UCLA/Anderson School of Management. He is an honors graduate of Stanford University in economics and history. A native of Oklahoma City, J.R. enjoys boxing, cooking, and the college football playoff system.

 

J.R. is admitted to the State Bar of California.
